LD's returns - you had not been forgotten - merely very busy with other club matters which needed to be resolved.
We return on Tuesday 20th Sep @ 6.30pm at Bridge St FC Ground in Clay Cross.
From Wingerworth turn left at the new Tesco Store forecourt - go up to the traffic lights before the new Tesco Store BUT turn left - do not cross over to the Store.
Follow the road down - the ground is on the LHS past the waste company and opposite a car sales garage. It is not far. Park on the LHS of the road and go through the steel gate.
This is a grass pitch with floodlights ideal for training rather than indoors or on the astro.
The boys should wear boots (preferably not metal studs); shinpads and tracksuit bottoms not shorts etc. Need to be wrapped up now Autumn is upon us. Need a drink - them not me!
LDs this year, U7's next year for most of them and therefore look forward to a couple of parents stepping forward to take the group on at U7. Don'r be shy.
VIP NEWS: Mr Adrian Anderson has kindly volunteered to take the lead on LD's with me as his assistant for as long as needed. Ade is an FA Level 1 Coach and has passed through LD's with his sons Isaac (U10) and Dominic (U8).

Dear All
LD's on tomorrow night (Monday 23 May) at Hunloke School at 6.30pm. Apologies for nagging - BUT PLEASE NO PARKING WITHIN THE SCHOOL.
Can I just remind some of you - I need £5 preferably by cheque (made payable to WJSA) for the cost of training at Hunloke for this short period.
Individually I am reminding one or two about their subs. A job I have to do.
FUN-DAY
WJSA 25th Anniversary FUN DAY @ The Avenue - Sunday 12th June 2011 (2.00pm ish).
As I have said earlier, I would like to split the LD's into 4 equal ability teams (a tad subjective but I will give it a try) and run a mini Round-Robin Tournament that afternoon. To do so I need to know if you and your lad are able to attend. There will be a bar / BBQ and a band and other activities. They will all receive a trophy.
U7's NEXT SEASON
I have not been trampled upon in the rush of would-be applicants to take forward the U7's for next season. Please do not be shy.

WJSA LITTLE DUDES
Dear Parents/Guardians
HUNLOKE SCHOOL & CAR PARKING
Little Dudes will return on Monday 16th May 6.30pm at Hunloke Primary School in Wingerworth.
I have obtained special dispensation for us to train there but at a price (see below). The first point I want to make is we can train there BUT YOU CANNOT PARK THERE. There is no parking within the school grounds available to us. There may be the opportunity on the lower side of the school around the corner descending down Long Edge Lane towards the Chesterfield Road (A61) or the Church Car Park. The school has a Letting activity on Monday night and the school car park is set aside for that activity alone. So - Please do not attempt to park within the school grounds if you have to come in your car. I do not want any grief from the school. PLUS the U7’s will also be there and they will receive the same message.
TRAINING NIGHTS
There will be 6 Training Nights:
Mon 16th May Mon 6th June Mon 4th July
Mon 23rd May Mon 20th June

Break for half-term Bank Holiday 30th May and also Mon 13th June (WJSA Fun-day the preceding day down at The Avenue and I will be organising a Little Dudes Tournament on the Sunday afternoon). More to follow on that.
COST (£)
The cost of Training at Hunloke will be a ne-off fee of £5.00. We hire the school playing field. Can you please bring that with you on Monday.
U7’s FOOTBALL Season 2011-12
For those boys who are now 6 and will be under 7 at the 1st Sep ’11, then they will be eligible to move forward as an U7 age group. U7’s are eligible to play in organised Mini-soccer on Saturday mornings at Cavendish Playing Fields at the top of Matlock OR possibly at Highfield Playing Fields in Chesterfield (to be decided). To be fair we do not have to enter one or more U7 teams at the start of the season (Sat 10 Sep ’11). I would only recommend that if the boys were ready to step up to playing organised football. The season now ended our 2 U7’s teams did not enter the Mini-soccer Centre at Matlock until late November. It gave them a number of weeks to be prepared. It is a big step up from Little Dudes.
COACHING & MANAGEMENT OF U7’s
For such a team to be formed they need to have a Manager or Coach. He or She needs to be trained and CRB checked. In that regard I would be looking for a volunteer to undertake this role, as I would be unable to commit to that role as my son still plays football and I have other football commitments with the WJSA and the Rowsley League.
From my records which are not totally complete as far as D.O.B’s, the boys that would fall into this category would be:
William Hammond; Jake Paice; Jack Parry; Matt Porteous
Josh Turkington Thomas Sanderson Harvey Shelton
That is a minimum of 7 (need to sort out a goalkeeper). we could supplement with one or two of the technically better equipped 5 year olds (other teams do). There is more to discuss about this and the commitment the volunteer would have to make, but I am willing to discuss that over a pint. If any one of the above parents is interested, please let me know. For the remaining lads, Little Dudes will continue next season and again I would be looking for one or more volunteers to take an active role in that, as part of preparing the U7’ team for the following season thereafter.
The Coach or Manager would be required to enrol on the FA Level 1 Coaching Course (WJSA would pay for that). That is a commitment in itself, which I am happy to discuss.
SUMMARY

Dear All
Apologies - I am deferring the return of Little Dudes by one week until Monday 16th May.
A Management Committee & Supporters Group Meeting has been rearranged for tomorrow night and I have quite a lot to organise for that - so we will return for a week on Monday.
I will aso write out to you about what we will be aiming to do for the remainder of training as we need to plan for next season for those lads who move up to the U7 age group. PLUS there is the WJSA's Fun Day on Sunday 12th June - I would like to organise a mini-tournament and other competition for that.

No LDs for Mon 18th & Mon 25th April and Mon 2nd May 2011.
We return Monday 9th May (Venue to be confirmed).

Dear All
All the weekend junior football matches (with the exception of Huloke School) were called off because of sodden pitches. We had more rain yesterday and overnight and therefore it is highly unlikely that the Tupton Hall area we play on in the centre of the athletics track is going to be other than a mud heap - it was pretty bad last week. I am calling off early - it gives me clarity in terms of leaving work (I travel to and from Buxton - I have to leave early to make the 6.00pm start).
Hopefully we will get a drier spell this week and resume next Monday - where we have some more LDs joining us.
In terms of how long LDs last - basically apart for the odd break for school holidays - I will carry on until the end of the summer term when they break for their summer hols - therefore plenty of Mondays ahead. Any queries please let me know.

Plan to restart LDS tomorrow night 21st Feb at Tupton Hall School on the grass within the athletics track (in front of the Astro Turf). I will go with 6.00pm if that makes things easier in terms of bath/teeth & book at bedtime.
The grass will be soft and I daresay muddy - may I recommend the boys wear their oldiest, scruffiest, scabbiest and darkest clothing. If they have boots that would be helpful - would suggest they acquire shin pads as well. Bring a drink and warm clothing.
I believe we may have a few additional participants.

restart MON-21-FEB
Thank you all for your prompt responses. I propose to go with Monday nights. It will be at Tupton Hall School again but not on the Astro-turf but on the grass area within the athletics track under floodlights. You will still be able to park in the same place as before.
We may be able to start earlier at 6.00pm rather than 6.30pm - would that be OK - I will check with the powers that be. If you know of any other 5 or 6 year olds who would like to join in, please let their parents have my number/contact details.
It is half term week and we have had a very wet weekend and it is Valentines Day tomorrow, so propose to restart on Monday 21st Feb if that is suitable. So, can you please confirm:

Dear Parents/Guardians
The Wingerworth Junior Sports Association (WJSA) is the umbrella organisation which offers the opportunity for Boys and Girls in and around the Wingerworth area, to play football. The introductory age group is Little Dudes (5+ years old who have started school). The WJSA has been operating LDs for 7 years and is the feeder age group into U7’s and subsequent age groups right up to U18’s.
We have been operating this season on Wednesday evenings, but this has clashed with Beavers and Swimming, so I am looking to find an alternate time and therefore it is an ideal opportunity to offer more places. Do you have a 5 or 6 year old who wants to play and join Little Dudes – then please give me a call and I will explain how we operate.
